Grow Your Own

Hopefully soon I will have some home grown produce!  Yesterday I had a trip to the garden centre and have bought my seed potatoes, shallot sets and radish seeds.  I also bought a new grow bag thing that will house the shallots.  I am also hoping to grow salad in hanging baskets, beans in pots and carrots!

A hint of Spring

I can't believe that it is March already though we have had a few days of spring-like weather.  Perfect for walks in the sunshine with the buggy.  The 1st of March also means that my little baby is now 7 months old!  He is growing up so fast.

I have been doing loads of sewing including cushion covers and bunting for my mum and bunting for our bedroom to carry on the pink spots theme.  I love the pom pom trim!

A very nice day!

Today I have had a lovely day.....a walk in the sunshine with my gorgeous little Leo, tea and cakes out with my mum followed by a visit to Pizza Express with my two lovely boys this evening.
In other news, I have made a peg bag!  Was looking for inspiration on the internet for designs and came across the idea of using a baby's shirt....took about 2 mins to make and hey presto! Here is my new peg bag!

Banana Loaf

I haven't blogged for a little while.  Have been quite busy with one thing or another.
Toady I made a banana loaf, haven't made one for ages and it smells yummy!

We had a few days in London visiting family and got back on Sunday.  Leo had fun playing with Isabelle and met his Grandpa for the first time.  We were glad to get home after the long train journey and back to our usual routine.  My little lion seems to have caught a cold too :( Here are my 2 favourite boys on the south bank.

My sewing machine has also seen some action recently.  I have made curtains, bunting and cushion covers for my mummy, some bunting for me and have a few other sewing ideas ........

Time for Tea!

Have been a bit fed up of normal tea and coffee recently so have rediscovered Earl Grey.  I loved drinking it when we were in India and its nice to have something different!  I also love Clipper's packaging!

Have also been doing some cooking.  My first ever beef casserole which turned out well and a yummy cheese, onion and potato bake....so easy to make too!

Fairy Cakes!

I made some fairy cakes today.  Hadn't made any since my last baking disaster when the whole lot ended up in the bin! Thankfully the result was better this time and I got to use these cute cases that I bought ages ago in Morrisons.  The K L and M are not for the airline but our initials!

In other news, I have finished knitting the wrist warmers.  I'm very pleased with the finished product and even more so that they only took one ball of wool (pattern said two).  I will give them to a friend for her birthday.

I still have another ball of the same wool and will probably knit another pair for myself.
For my next project, I'm going to try a small knitted toy for Leo......just have to choose cat, dog or bunny!

Small things make you happy!

My Mum and I recently agreed that it's the small things in life that make you happy.  Here's what is making me happy just now:
Leo makes me happy every day!  At the moment he is so cute and smiley.  He has brought us so much joy in the 5 months he has been here so far.  His little cheeks are rosy at the moment, think his gums are giving him trouble.

I've been knitting some fingerless gloves from my knitty gritty book.  The wool is Debbie Bliss Rialto and is just gorgeous. I like small projects best!

I am also very glad that the snow is going and my bulbs are bringing a breath of spring!  I love the scent of hyacinths.
